Volunteer To Help Us SAVE MORE DOGS!

We have many types of volunteer positions. If you are a hands-on type of person you can come out and work directly with the dogs, we have activities you can do from home such as social media and helping organize events. If you don’t see a particular volunteer position on the list, please don’t hesitate to reach out! Any and all help that we can get to ultimately Save More Dogs, we’re all ears! Doggy day out program
Dog Dates give our furry friends a break from the kennel by spending a few entertaining hours just being a dog and having fun! It also helps our team understand their personalities outside the shelter and create stories we can share with potential adopters!
What to Expect on Your Dog Date
Dog Dates are a great way to spend quality time with a dog, get an introduction to fostering, enjoy companionship, and give back to a pup in need of a little extra TLC.
Let’s date! Here’s a rundown of everything you need to know before and after you sign up for a dog date:
Start Time & Orientation:
- Your date starts at 10 a.m. with a short orientation. This early start keeps our pups out of the heat of the day!
- During orientation, we get to know you and your plans for the day, and then explain the expectations and safety procedure for the dogs.
Meeting Your Date:
- After orientation, you’ll meet your dog in the lobby.
- Our staff helps you load the pup into your car.
- We ensure the dog is comfortable, especially if it’s their first car trip.
Supplies Provided:
- Treats
- Water bottles for your canine companion
- Water bowl
- Poop bags
- Leash & Collar/No Pull Harness
Duration:
- Your date should be a minimum of an hour to allow the dog time to decompress and have fun.
- You can keep the dog until 4:30 p.m., when they need to be back for dinner.
Support & Contact:
- You’ll always have a point of contact for any questions or issues during the day!
Return Procedure:
- When you return, check-in at the front desk.
- The Dog Team will meet you to hand off your date.
- Fill out a report card to complete the process.
